The candidate will fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Support in the implementation of the infrastructure component of the Hayenna Project and the Innovation in Water and Sanitation Project.
  • Support the coordination and communication among the experts and local coordinators regarding the infrastructure component, including required permits and approvals.
  • Accompany the Qena, Luxor, and Damietta water companies for all relevant procurements (financed by SECO, the Coca-Cola Foundation, and the Egyptian contribution) for the selected infrastructure interventions.
  • Provide technical support to infrastructure-related procurement processes such as preparation of ToRs and evaluation of bids.
  • Provide support in managing contracts of selected contractors including technical revision of submissions and payments; Supervise the acceptance procedures, handover, follow-up the defects liability period and escalate possible guarantee claims.
  • Provide support in reviewing technical/progress reports submitted by the design, Implementation and Supervision Consultant(s).
  • Provide basic reports on as required
  • Keep up-to-date and proper knowledge management system on relevant documents/reports/guidelines.
  • As required, prepare (English /Arabic letters and reports) and write meeting minutes for infrastructure-related meetings.
  • Support the development of publications, guidelines and manuals that are relevant to the infrastructure component including lessons learnt.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:
A High School Certificate with a minimum of 6 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field is required. Or any other related field with 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • At least six (6) years of proven experience supporting the fields of infrastructure, water and sanitation, public works, civil engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in water provision and/or sanitation projects is required.
  • Familiarity in working with local administration units and local communities is desirable.

Language: Fluency in oral and written Arabic and Basic command of English is required. A High School Certificate with a minimum of 6 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field is required.

Contract type, level and duration

  1. Contract type: ICA
  2. Contract level: Local ICA Support, level 6
  3. Contract duration: 12 months (Renewable according to budget availability)
